For this design, I began by sawing out the shape from a thick piece of sheet metal and stamped the back of it with my maker’s mark. I hand-filed the edge to smooth out the circle shape. I measured and cut a piece of thick wire, shaped it into a circle that perfectly sits on top of the circle's edge, and soldered it closed as well as onto the circle metal. I, then, cut, filed, and shaped wire for the letter. I, carefully, placed and soldered the little pieces onto the thick sheet of metal, while assuring they stayed in place during the 'slippery' soldering process. The tiny flower detail I made by sawing out the shape from a piece of sheet metal and doming it to start shaping the flower. I hand-filed the piece to smooth it out. I melted a piece of metal into a ball and soldered it onto the middle of the flower. I, then, soldered the finished flower onto the top of the pendant, all the while playing a balancing act and making sure that the flower would not slip off before it soldered into place. When done with the front of the pendant, I cut, filed, and shaped a bail, as well as a small ring, soldered the bail to the back of the pendant, and the small ring through the bail. Once the soldering was complete, I tumbled the piece, for a substantial amount of time, until the perfect amount of strength and additional shine was reached. I, then, thoroughly hand-polished the entire piece. Finally, I attached the pendant to a fine chain that I finished off with a clasp, which I soldered closed, and added a dainty logo tag to.
Although it is a lengthy and messy process, the beautiful results makes it all worthwhile. As seen in the photos, this is a standout piece you will feel proud to show off.
